I was raised on James Island. I attended and graduated culinary/pastry arts school while living in New Orleans. There, I became the pastry chef for a wonderful restaurant, Apolline. It was made from a double shotgun home. My work space was an actual closet, with an expo window. There I was able to put to use the techniques I had learned in school. The executive chef, Matt Farmer, and I worked together with the menu planning and drink pairings. I use this experience in my baking everyday.
When I moved back to James Island I decided it was time to take the proverbial step off of the ledge and just go for it. With less than $300 of my own money the Tenacious Tart was born. Tenacious Tart is a small batch, baked to order shop. I offer professional experience, with personal service.
